Parade of Lights

We are encouraging everyone to get their floats and entries ready for the 31st annual Parade of Lights on Saturday, Dec. 7th. This year, there will be 2 categories: commercial and personal. Each category will be judged separately and there will be 3 winners selected in each category. The prizes are all in New Town Bucks. The first place winner will receive $1,000, second place $750, and third place $500. In addition, there is the Mayor’s Choice award which will pay $1,500 in New Town Bucks. Pre-register at the New Town City Auditor’s office. Line up will be south of the General Store at 5:15 PM and the parade starts at 6:00. The parade route will go west down Main St. and then turn around by the Catholic Church, come back down Main St., turn south by Corner Liquor building, go behind 52 West, post office, and Jack & Jill to gather by the Christmas tree at the Civic Center. There will be a short program, refreshments, and award presentations.
